How You Can Help

Land Stewardship:

Non-native invasive plants in San Benito County reduce yield and quality of crop and forage species, they are unsightly, some are poisonous to livestock and/or people, and they frequently reduce fish and wildlife by displacing native plants.  As good stewards of the land we must do what we can to control these invasive plants.  If the invasive plant is new to San Benito County it is vitally important to eradicate it before it becomes established.  Report new invasive weeds as follows:

Volunteer Opportunities:

The Weed Management Area and its sponsoring agencies have "work days" to remove and eradicate invasive weeds throughout the year. Contact the Ag. Commissioner's office to learn when you can volunteer to eradicate invasive weeds or help in educational and outreach activities.
